Last Day in Hong Kong

Unfortunately we started the day off with a complete failure. Since we were up early (6:30 am), we decided to travel north during HK rush hour to the Che Kung Temple. After 4 subway transfers, we arrived at the station. Following signs to what we thought was the correct temple, we were disappointed. While it was a nice place, it did not seem to match the pictures we saw. Feeling discouraged, we decided to make the long trek back into the city for dim sum. While on the subway, we realized we did not walk far enough along the path to reach the actual temple but stopped at a much smaller, local temple.
Back in Kawloon, we walked through the Flower Market, Bird Market, and Gold Fish market to get to our restaurant.
Tim Ho Wan has been awarded several Michelin Stars so it has become very popular for locals and tourists. Due to it small size, the wait for a table can be between 1 to 2 hours. Luckily, we only had to wait 30 minutes before we were rewarded with a table. We were also able to order our food while outside so one we sat down, we were served. We ordered a lot of food, but had no trouble finishing it.
After this, we needed to walk it off. Then, we were forced to make a decision we knew would affect the rest of our lives. At a certain subway stop, we had to choose to either go to Disneyland or see the largest outdoor Buddha. Looking for a calm adventure, we choose Buddha. Since the chairlift was out of service, we had to take a 45 minute bus ride through the winding roads. This alone felt like a roller coaster so we think we experienced the thrills of Disneyland.
Upon arriving at the Buddha, we were met with a calming sensation. We don't know how to describe it but we both began to smile. The cold and cloudy day did not detract from the experience, only the photographs. It was a wonderful way to end the sightseeing in Hong Kong.
Even though we only spent two full days here, we did fall in love with the city. Up next, BANGKOK!
